I used to be in the Ski Patrol when my kids were growing up.

 I used to love winter, skiing and sledding. But now that I am retired from the Patrol, I don't care that much for winter. the cold seems to effect me more as I age and I don't play in the snow like I used to. I still love to see a beautiful snowfall, but I then have to go plow. that can take all day. Its not fun like it used to be.

Since now that I train horses, I don't play outside and am in the arena more in the winter. I love to work the horses, but if it gets too cold, then it is not good to get the horses too wet. Its a fine line to not get them wet and sweaty, but to get the work done that is required.

This past weekend Nancy and I went to Arizona to do a clinic at Rockaway ranch in Cave Creek. Now that will spoil you. The weather was awesome and the desert rides were fantastic, gaitting across  the Sonoran desert. The clinic was great , with lots of improvement from every horse. I will go back in a month for two clinics in February. Its a great way to break up the winter blues.
